It's been a couple entries since I've posted photos of what I have been doing, so I thought I'd sum up the last month or so in a bunch of photos. Because, honestly, I've done more around than house than I have since we first moved in.These shoes are the ones I made for my sister's birthday. I was extremely excited, only to discover I ordered the wrong size (half size too small...so stupid...so she can't wear them). I told her to put them on Etsy or something, because I won't wear them. I don't remember when I did them. Probably around August 18th.
This is half of our house. I should have taken a before photo. The corner had this huge bush thing in it and it was overgrown with some huge spider plants (I love them, but they take over everything! Was not a good idea!). And we came across some flower bulbs. The bulbs had gotten ginormous, but no flowers. Ha. There's another half, but it's got our house number and such, so there isn't a need for it. This was started September 5th and finished the 6th.
These are the two before photos. The front yard kind of looked like this. But worse. Yes, they're bad photos, but I took them after midnight. This are photos of what I did in the last entry. This was started and completed September 14th.
Amazing difference, isn't it? Looks so much better, though the dogs tend to wander around in there instead of just walking past. Looks cleaner, though the front of the house does look a little nekked.
Gibbs (front), Winnie (back left), and Clover (back right) all got baths. In one night. By me only. It wasn't as bad, though, since my arms seemed to be a tiny bit stronger from all the yard work. This was started and completed September 15th.
And Winnie and Gibbs got a hair cut. By me. Dawn did the holding. Dad did the supervising. They turned out pretty good, too. This was started and completed September 16th.
My final project I did tonight, September 24th. I took out the frosted glass doors and installed a curved shower rod. I bought the hooks and curtain a month or so ago. The rod we've had around the house for about a year. We bought it for the big house, but it was too small for that. So I got it (well, I bought it in the first place). So tada! This was in addition to the cleaning we did in the big house today. My mom started about an hour before I got in the house (Did not sleep well last night...HUGE spider for the second night this week), so I joined in and we cleaned and straightened the living room and dining room. We still have work to do, but we got a lot of stuff out of there that didn't need to be there and it looks so much more open.
There was also the family project of installing the blinds back above the sliding glass door. These are all in addition to my dad having his third back surgery August 30th. And the past two weeks both houses and both sheds got painted (a lovely grey color...you can see the before and after in the weed photos. I pulled the weeds the night before the garage was painted).
I did not get as much done this weekend as I had hoped (I finally took my labor day holiday off). Mom, my sister, and I all got sick last week. It hit me last Friday and it took until today for me to sound normal and feel almost normal. My sleep schedule has suffered immensely because of it, and I know it's going to take me a while to get it back to where I had it before (I was doing so well...up at 11am, bed at 2am...1am only gave me 45 minutes to unwind after work and wasn't enough time).
That's it for now. I hope to continue to do things at a steadier pace, so hopefully more awesome updates are to follow (I'm really hoping for one project a week).
...and a blog post to boot! Go, you!
