I had not crafted since it happened because I am afraid what I saw will come out in my work. I'm trying to get over that, so I started simple. I started a couple days ago by picking up a blanket I'm crocheting. It's simple and I can't turn it into something it is not. Three days ago, I picked up felt and thread to start "embroidering". Today, I finished it.
I was not envisioning anything in particular. I was going for a doll for my sister that she can hug and get her mind off the nightmares. So I present to you, the Nightmare Eater. He's nocturnal and keeps his eyes wide open for nightmares to eat before they reach your dreams. I have never been good at making dolls, so this turned out a bit funny looking, but it's part of the charm.

How do you think it turned out? I literally sewed and went along. I embroidered the face to look like it was colored in with a pencil or crayon, like a child's drawing, so I did not try to make the sides match. Maybe on my weekend I'll get the courage to paint.
I think he came out wonderful! My only concern is Buddy will steal him, just like he tends to run off with my other ones! I've got to keep an eye on him, that sneaky thing.
ReplyDeleteI think he's perfect! The love with which he was made makes him so. I cannot wait for you to start painting again!
