Book Ten: Austenland

After the ordeal with the lat book, I was happy to choose a thinner book that I could complete in one sitting. With 194, it is a lot more entertaining. Austenland by Shannon Hale follows a woman who is gifted the chance to spend three weeks in her Mr. Darcy fantasy.

Austenland is a hush-hush, high societal adventure that lands in Jane's lap when a wealthy relative passes away. I think it was a fairly realistic portrayal of someone plucked out of today's society and planted in the past.

Given false names, this books follows Jane's adventures she tries to separate the information she's learned about a character from their true identity. Throw in some flirting, and this book is one to leave you in high spirits after the book is closed.
