I haven't worked on the room, but I have another three day weekend so I may paint then. I definitely would like to stay home, though. I have gone to the gym two days in a row. I walk on the treadmill at 2.9 mph for half an hour. I end up doing about 1.7 miles. My legs feel it, for sure, but it's that good kind of ache. I did not want to weigh myself, but the gym has one of those good ol' fashioned scales where you have to move the weights, so I knew I needed to get a base line weight.
Before the shift change, I have about a month. I haven't really calculated it, but I'm going to make myself go to the gym for three days a week (well, my Fri-Tues work week) for the month. Hopefully I will have seen some weight loss. And what I was getting to...I really have lost 10 lbs in the last month! I'm so excited! I was afraid it was a blip in the scale, or an accidental dip and it'd right itself again. But it didn't! I haven't managed to lose weight in months, and I've finally gotten past that plateau I couldn't seem to get off of.
Tuesday is the Christmas (holiday?) party at work. I'm not going in early to attend, but I will be wearing a dress (*dies*). I am so not a girly girl. I have my moments, but I'm a jeans and tee kind of gal. I don't even like wearing dress pants. I love looking at dresses, but with my bubble but, they always end up shorter at the back than the front and end up looking funny. And sometimes I buy them. But rarely. I have one that I bought over a year ago. I never tried it on because the one I bought with it was too small (though it was styled different). So I never bothered.
My sis has lost weight and she wears skirts, so in the process of her trying on the skirts I happily was giving her (I have worn one skirt--no dress--in the two years that I've been at this job), I tried the dress on. And it fit. Miracle of all miracles, it actually looked good! So I want to wear it once before (let's be positive here) I lose too much weight to where it doesn't look good any more. I've seen it happen. My sister had an awesome dress she never got to wear because of that. (And hey, once I don't fit in it, my sister can wear it.)
Yes, this will definitely shock people. It will make them gasp. But I love the freaking dress. So I'm doing girly things that are not in my every day routine. I am shaving my legs almost every day (seriously...no one sees them, why shave except for special occasions?) and I've been putting lotion on them so they're not so dry (yes, I will be wearing pantyhose). The lotion thing is a huge deal. I have an aversion to lotion. It makes me gag and it feels nasty. But I put it on my legs. Thank you, gloves (yes, new pair each time). I do see the difference. Doesn't make me want to do this regularly any more than before, but it tells me it's worth it.
Now I just have to figure out what shoes to wear...
