Welcome Oh-Ten!

A new year is considered a new start by many-it does not matter when the year starts: a birthday, an anniversary, or the actual new year. My "new year" starts several times a year. Most recently, my birthday back in August, then again on October 12 (random day I chose to start keeping track of my finances). Now, I start over again on January 1st. This time I have more than enough to equip myself: I have a daily rip-off calendar for my notes and lists, a notebook to keep track of my YouTube video ideas, a journal to keep track of my financial self, and a little year-long notebook calendar planner thing to keep in my purse to keep things portable. Not to mention the day planner I have from last year that I armed for this. This, of course, does not count my blog, my twitter account, or my YouTube account.

I have never been more determined. Well, I may have felt more determined, but I have never been more prepared. I cannot tell you how many times I have checked and double checked my notebooks to make sure my lists cover everything I can think of. I feel like I can do it because not only do I feel more accountable to myelf, I've announced it on this blog and YouTube, so other people will be watching me (though I am not quite sure of how closely). I have read many articles that state announcing your intentions to do something makes you stick to your guns because you're afraid of humiliating yourself.

One thing I haven't quite figured out is how often I am going to write or post videos. I'd like to make videos at least twice a week. Blogs will be more sporadic. I know with blogging, I can expand on what I was saying on my videos. I can get detail-itis and I'd rather have it on my blog than long drawn out videos. I have thought about posting a video one day and a blog the next, but if I get the urge to blog, I don't want to stop myself, because I do like to write.

I did not get to start my book today like I'd hoped, so I am officially starting my first book of 2010 in the actual year. I am off to read it.

  1. You've got everything planned out rather well! I've managed to keep up with my photo challenges but I haven't picked up another book to read, as of yet. I've been eying the Patrick Swayze one.
